21.0" / 6.0 lb. Largemouth Bass caught by Matt Mcbride fishing on Sunday August 09, 2020 at 19:45 using a 1/4 ounce Texas jig green pumpkin senko a Worm by YUM Baits

Wading in the Sac River downstream from Scotty’s Landing around 7:45 PM, right after the sun set below the trees, my rod slowly bent down. With a quick tug, the fight was on. Wouldn’t have taken so long to land this fish if it wouldn’t have shot down and got tangled up in the weeds. After that it just felt like a snag and I didn’t even know if he was still on. I wadded deeper into the water to yank from the other side of the weeds and got him out. It was putting up such a fight I thought it was a striper. So when I finally got him out of the water I was pleasantly surprised to see it was 6 lb largemouths bass. My previous PB was caught in 1970 at the age of 12 when I caught a 5 pounder, and it took me 50 years to finally beat it!
