18.0" Largemouth Bass caught by Dennis Huskins fishing on Wednesday May 10, 2017 at 15:19 near Blairstown in Warren County, New Jersey (NJ), United States North America using a 4/0 weighted Texas hooked Paddle tail Swim bate a Jerk Bait

Difficult fishing. It's as weedy as Summer and still cold with a sluggish response. Top water weedless Frog gets a few bumps, but no aggressive hits. Mepps spinners are not working in weeds. The only metal that can clear the weeds is a Timber doodle with a twister tail. It gets hit but hookups are very rare. Best luck was a slow jerky weedless weighted paddle tail into the weeds and it got hit just as it clears the weed edge. This hook set bent my ultralight test St Croix trout rod to the extreme. The rod held up and is now on Ebay for sale.
