We catch and release 99% of our fishes and this one was bleeding when he took the hook out but it hopefully survived because it was bleeding in the gill and he was only holding it that way because I said wait I want to take a picture so he stopped and stood up before he put it back in and I snapped the picture but thank you for the info we know how to care for the fishes we catch, we are big about conservation and we love them as much as everyone who fishes and we absolutely hate it when one is bleeding or in danger because the hook is too deep. We were actually out catching flounder this particular night and happened to catch this bass on a treble hook and bobber which we would never use when bass fishing. We have tackle ranging from crappie to deep sea fishing and always use the one for which we are fishing that day. Our river consists of freshwater and salt water fish because we are so close to the ocean and catch all sorts of fish when fishing for a specific type. We have an amazing eco system and when we go out targeting one species we usually end up with a multitude of different types. I don't take your comment as a negative one I appreciate your worries about the fishes, we are new to this site but not to fishing and thanks for your concern :) Fish on my fiend
