9.0 lb. Largemouth Bass caught by Jeff Rappa fishing in New Jersey on 08/25/05
25.0" / 9.0 lb. Largemouth Bass caught by Jeff Rappa fishing on Thursday August 25, 2005 at 10:38 near Medford in Burlington County, New Jersey (NJ), United States North America using a Storm Wildeye Swim Shad/5 inch model 8/0 hook a Swimbait

While renovating a private residence in Medford I and a friend of mine, Christopher Mahoney, were taking in some fishing at the private pond. I had a 1 pound Large Mouth on my line when a huge explosion hit at the fish I was reeling in. I immediately ran to my tackle box tied on a storm wildeye swim shad, made three casts one left, one right and one up the middle,as the lure sank I jigged it every thrre reels to have this lunker destroy my line and 10 mins later I had to wade out to the fish as he was in a shallow bogged with grass and hydrylla. Once lipped this giant I had the biggest to date Largemouth . "Whatta Fish", I let the Bass go as I am an angler and care for my sport.

Last entry guys on this catch for the doubters, my hand in the photo from thumb knuckle to middle finger bent knuckle grasping fish measures 5 inches exactly, I put a graph rule on the pic and I come up with 5 lengths of my hand dimension plus a half. This you can't fake I've got another photo to find for this one and a separate catch in 2007 I'll be sharing and thats that. Good Fishin everyone the State Record is waiting I thought this would be the year that someone would do it beings we had a warmer winter than usual.

Nice fish and story but I would have to agree Bassassin. It could be that your arm is slightly bent which is throwing off your calculations. But like i said, it's a really nice fish.

You sound like a angler if you take notice of a 4 pounder in my reports that fish is 19 inches long the photo from 2005 is 25 inches long quite a difference
