It was snowing heavily on the way to the boat launch and only 28 degrees but we were fine with heading out. We headed straight to Devils Hole on the lower Niagara River in upstate NY and were 2-2 on our first two drifts. My Brother caught a nice 9+ lb. Steelie and I landed a 7lb. We then proceeded to catch two more fish from 8-1pm and were starting to feel it. So we decided to give it one last drift and then call it a day if we were skunked. The fish turned on and we then went 5-5 on the next drifts and boated a total of 12 Steelhead for the day all between 6-11 lbs!
This photo was the big dog, an 11 lb. beauty!

Congrats! Sounds like a great trip. Did you use your own boat or did you hire a guide?

Nice catch, Tim! She looks bigger than 11 pounds, but then I looked a little closer at the picture and can see you use the same "extended arms technique" I use to make my catches look bigger ;-). A very nice catch, nonetheless. Posted by Joe Pych
