No Brian...... I mean I guess if you cut a hole in the ice and waited, maybe you`d catch one eventually. But I don`t know about that......

Odd fish get caught in the Northern States too. Down in Florida Oscars have overtaken many areas that used to be sunfish and really sad. They are voracious!

In the St Croix that I live near there were 2 or 3 redtailed catfish form the amazon caught. I am sure they got too big and someone released them. At least one ended up being eaten by a family that caught one. They were a couple pounds I heard.

I'll be adding more fish as time goes. I don't get out as much as I used to but I try to catch some cool fish.

That's awesome. There were 2 oscars in a local lake here in jersey a couple years ago. Prob from someones fish tank. I guess they're dead now. Doubt they survived the winters

Brian if you ever make it to MN/WI I can help you out and probably fish with you. Florida I can help you out with what to look for and styles of fishing. The biggest thing is to be flexible and keep it all simple.

I've had similar thing happen with just a rusty Shaky Head instead of Crankbait , I've seen a SmallMouth with a Crankbait stuck to the side of it's body getting ready for the Spawn , didn't seem to affect the fish , but You Definitely extended that Fish's Life Span , That Fish Owes you a Beer!..lol
